EDEE GAIL, singer, songwriter, musician and adventurist grew up on an island in Michigan looking east to Canada. She watched ships from all over the world pass in front of her house and knew at a young age that she wanted to travel. She came from a very musical / theatrical family and has been singing most of her life.
After a brief stint teaching elementary school, Ms. Gail headed out exploring. She circumnavigated the globe twice while working as a flight attendant and in management for a major airline. Traveling by motorcycle from Peru to Terra Del Fuego, she then moved to the bush of Alaska using a dog team to take in supplies.
She received four years of schooling from Western Michigan University in elementary education, two years at South Plains College in Levelland, Texas in music and sound technology, and received a degree in music, dance, and writing from Naropa University in Boulder, Colorado.
Edee has traveled across the country delighting audiences with her music and unique perspectives on life, which she weaves into her songs and stories. Many of her favorite venues are out-of-doors, for example, the stern-wheeler Riverboat Discovery, on which she's played the last eight springs in Fairbanks, Alaska. Edee has also performed at: The Carbondale Mountain Fair, Water World, The Alaska Folk Fest, Canyon Passages River Trip, Crestone National Energy Fair, the Paonia 4th of July Cherry Festival, The White House Council On Aging Seminar held at Naropa University and The Fairbanks Folk Festival. She was seen playing her original song "Laughin and Lovin" for an ABC Dateline piece on co-housing.
She performs as a solo acoustic artist or with her band, playing a wide selection of music from 30's- 40's to upbeat contemporary, fun, original pop. She will delight you with her songs and stories in a most uplifting and memorable way!
